NIHON UNICOM, INC.
NIHON UNICOM, INC.Our corporate policy is to co-prosper with our customers. In other words, we would like to benefit our customers as well as to achieve our corporate growth.
We are eager to understand what customers really want: We develop innovative products and provide services from customers' viewpoint. We confirm that our employees act in full compliance with all laws and regulations. We try to strengthen our corporate value through enhancing our customers' convenience and our credibility.
Business environment in Japanese commodity futures markets, our main business field, has been changed tremendously in recent years due to the deregulation of brokerage commissions and the amendment of the Commodity Exchange Law. Business environment in other business fields of Unicom group, such as securities markets and financial futures market, has also been changed since the enactment of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act in 2006. Under these circumstances, we need to reevaluate our business model and distribute our managerial assets efficiently among our group. Through these measures, we aim to strengthen our business foundation and continue to increase our corporate value. With these aims in mind, we will address the following tasks.
Development of New Sales Approaches
With the amendment of the Commodity Exchange Law in 2007, regulations on soliciting prospective customers have been strengthened. This situation requires us to develop even more regulatory compliant sales approaches. In order to realize the approaches above, we will strengthen customer consultation skills of our sales representatives as well as put more emphasis on investment seminars.
Diversification
In order to realize a stable and continuous growth, we have deemed it important to diversify our source of profits. We launched the proprietary trading department in 2009 and keep trying to develop new source of profits.
Effective Allocation of Resources
We will continue to allocate managerial assets effectively to increase cost-benefit performance. In order to allocate our human resources effectively, we will reexamine our organization's structure and workflow and clarify roles and responsibilities of each section. We will also integrate information technologies to promote clerical efficiencies.
